The game of Pickleball
is played indoors Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to noon at Tice Valley Gym,
located 100 yards south of Rossmoor entrance on Tice Valley Boulevard. There is a $2 charge.
The game is also played outdoors on Rossmoor tennis court No. 2 by arrangement.
Pickleball is the fastest growing senior sport in the United States. Rossmoor just started
the club in 2009 and currently have approximately 30 members. Anyone is invited to play.
The sport is played with a paddle and wiffle ball on a court approximately
one-quarter the size of tennis. It is a great sport for seniors as it's not hard on
the knees and doesn't require lots of running. At the same time,
it is exciting because of the quickness of the rallies.
It is a combination of tennis, table tennis and badminton.
