(Wednesday, March 15) A power outage that first occurred during Tuesday’s high winds stretched into a second day with the estimated time for power restoration not expected until Wednesday night.

The outage has affected entries on Golden Rain Road, Pine Knoll Drive, Oakmont Drive and Rockledge Lane and a few homes on Tice Creek Drive and Rossmoor Parkway. The front gate also has lost power and has been operating on backup power from a generator.

PG&E said crews are still assessing the cause, which is weather related, and that power should be restored by 8:48 p.m. on Wednesday.

Public Safety Manager Tom Cashion said the front gate is down to one of two fuel tanks for the generator and he has requested a fuel delivery so the gate can continue to operate.

The outage also has affected businesses in the Rossmoor Shopping Center and at Saver’s just outside the gate.

Residents who need a warm place to stay or to charge their devices can visit the clubhouses in Rossmoor: Hillside, Gateway, Dollar, Creekside and the Event Center.
