Food trucks continue at Gateway on Tuesday

Two trucks will now visit due to popularity of event

(Friday, Oct. 1) The Gateway Food Trucks return this month. The trucks were so popular that the weekly visits will now feature two trucks.

The trucks will serve lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. every Tuesday in October, except on Oct. 19. There will be no truck that day. Instead, three trucks will visit on Wednesday, Oct. 20 as part of the Diversity Festival.

The schedule for the trucks in October is below. This event is sponsored by the Recreation Department. For information, call 1-925-988-7780.

  • Tuesday, Oct. 5 – Crazy Empanadas and Ceviche & Co. (ceviche and tapas)
  • Tuesday, Oct. 12 – Jeanne’s Broth Truck (broth noodle bowls) and King Gyro & Kabob
  • Wednesday, Oct. 20 – Diversity Festival Food Trucks – Southern Comfort (soul food), Yummi Kitchen (Asian food) and Masallah (Indian and Pakistani food)
  • Tuesday, Oct. 26 – Rosie’s Mexican Food and Mazzeh (Persian food)

First up is Crazy Empanadas and Ceviche & Co.

Crazy Empanadas calls itself “delicious Colombian Food on wheels.” The menu includes arepas and pataconas empanadas, as well as fries and homemade sauces.

Ceviche & Co. serves skirt steak skewers, grilled chicken breast, chile verde and vegetarian empanadas, fried plantains, salchi fries and ceviche of the day with citrus-flavored seasonal vegetables.
