Tice Creek Fitness Center launches Workout Challenge

Program begins Wednesday, Jan. 16, and runs through January; almost $1,000 in prizes

(Tuesday, Dec. 15, 12:35 p.m.) Tice Creek Fitness Center is launching a Workout Challenge that will provide almost $1,000 in raffle prizes. It starts today, Dec. 16, and runs through Sunday, Jan. 31.

The program is open to all residents, regardless of physical condition, and can include any type of exercise or any form of movement, from an at-home exercise routine, to a walk around the block, yard work, balance practice or a virtual personal training session with one of the center’s trainers.

The top prize will be a $200 Visa gift card, with other prizes including personal training session gift certificates, at-home fitness equipment and more. Participants can earn one raffle entry per day for workouts completed and logged. The raffle drawing will take place between Feb. 1-5, with 20 winners randomly chosen. Winners will be contacted between Feb. 8-12 via email and/or phone, and a pick-up date and time for the prizes will be coordinated.

To participate, residents must have a valid account set up through the Fitness Center (this is the same account residents use to make pool or Fitness Center general use reservations online or through the Tice Fitness app). For those who have not yet set up an account through the Fitness Center, call the Fitness Center front desk at 925-988-7850 Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. or email and provide staff with participant’s name, email, phone number and physical address.

Participants will be able to record/log one workout per day by placing their name into the designated “Workout Challenge – Daily Log” class on the Fitness Center schedule each day. Participants can log their workouts by signing into their account on a computer and selecting the “Workout Challenge” tab, then reserving a spot in the “Workout Challenge – Daily Log” class for that day; or logging into their account on the Tice Fitness app, tapping the three lines on the top left of the screen, tapping “Workout Challenge” in the dropdown list, then reserving a spot in the class called “Workout Challenge – Daily Log.”

Those who need assistance logging their workouts can call the Fitness Center from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., and staff will log the workout for them. Emails and voicemails will not be accepted for logging workouts. Staff may not always be available by phone, even during regular business hours.
