(2:20 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22) A few hundred homes on Rockledge Lane and Oakmont and Tice Creek Drives remained without power Wednesday afternoon after high winds knocked out power overnight.
PG&E said the outage was caused by some overhead lines in the Skycrest area. The company’s technicians “had to park and hike up to the lines to patrol,” PG&E told GRF. “They’ve identified the issue, and we’re hoping to get a crew out there soon. Due to the location of the outage and ability to get equipment directly to the area, it will take a couple more hours to restore.”
The initial outage affected about 1,700 residents. Almost 900 of them remained without power Wednesday morning. By afternoon, PG&E had cut that number in half as some homes were moved to another circuit while repairs were made to the overhead lines.
An ETA for full restoration of power was not yet known but PG&E hoped to have everything up and running again before the evening.

(11:50 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 22) PG&E technicians identified the cause of the power outage still affecting almost 900 residents in Rossmoor, but because of the location of the issue, it could take a couple more hours to fully restore power, PG&E said.
High winds overnight knocked out power to about 1,700 residents Tuesday, with 892 residents still without electricity Wednesday morning. The outage affected parts of Running Springs Road and Skycrest, Pine Knoll and Tice Creek Drives, as well as all of Oakmont Drive, Rockledge Lane and Fairlawn Court.

PG&E added that the company is looking to see if it can move any of the 892 affected customers to another circuit until power can be fully restored.
A cold front blasting much of the West Coast brought gusts of up to 25 mph to Walnut Creek on Tuesday night. Weather-related outages have hit thousands of homes throughout the Bay Area.
Gateway Clubhouse also was without WiFi on Wednesday morning. Comcast was looking into the issue.
