Rossmoor Walnut Creek is recruiting for a head lifeguard to work at our 3 beautiful pool complexes located in the gated residential community of Rossmoor. This position assists the Aquatics Coordinator in providing direction and oversight to lifeguard staff in enforcing facility regulations, policies and procedures; serves as an escalation point for resident issues and questions; monitors activities in pool areas; may assist the Aquatics Coordinator in scheduling lifeguard staff; oversees lifeguard staff training, ensuring that all certifications are maintained in current status; prepares and maintains records and reports as required. Under supervision, this position provides fitness training to Rossmoor residents, through general training, personal training, leading classes and groups, providing general instruction and supervision on the fitness floor and performs other duties as directed by the Fitness Supervisor to meet the changing needs of residents. This is a Full-time (40 hrs/week) position with all RWC benefits.

The Lifeguard’s primary function is to ensure the safety of residents, guests, and family members in the pool and pool area. Ensures RWC policies and safety rules are followed; maintains appropriate discipline in pool areas; prepares incident reports as required, etc. When not actively guarding, welcomes residents and guests, answers questions about classes, schedules, policies, etc., pertaining to pools. Lifeguard duties include cleaning of pools, decks, equipment, maintaining chemical balances, etc. Other duties assigned falling within the purview of the Fitness & Aquatic Manager. The Transportation Department at Rossmoor Walnut Creek has an opening for an experienced bus driver to join our transportation team. Respond to requests and schedules OnDemand and Paratransit bus services for residents. Maintains database of ride requests, completed rides, paratransit applications, etc. This position will also cross-train to assist in transit dispatcher.

This is a Full-time (40 hrs/wk) Union position with full medical benefits and retirement plan through Local 324 AFL-CIO.
