Rossmoor offers a variety of convenient and easy-to-use transportation methods to meet the needs of our busy residents. Rossmoor buses operate seven days a week, 365 days a year. There are no out-of-pocket fees for this service. The following pages are full of details about the Rossmoor Bus, Dial-a-Bus, Paratransit, County Connection (CCCTA, the public bus) and Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART).

Our goal in providing bus services is to help Rossmoor residents maintain their independence and have a good time. You can find schedules and fliers for all bus services at the Gateway Clubhouse Bus Shelter. In addition to service throughout Rossmoor, buses also take Rossmoor residents to destinations such as: downtown Walnut Creek, Target, Whole Foods, Hilltop Professional Center, Trader Joe’s and BART. This is only a partial list, so check each bus schedule to see complete route details. Rossmoor’s bus service also offers shopping trips to Sunvalley Shopping Center and the Crossroads Shopping Center. You can check the Gateway Clubhouse Bus Shelter or ask your bus driver for information on upcoming trips.

Rossmoor buses are provided for the use of the Rossmoor residents. As part of the security of Rossmoor, riders will need to have their Rossmoor.

Rossmoor Transportation staff offers travel trainings on the Rossmoor bus system. Staff is also available to visit your home for individual training with an appointment.

Rossmoor Buses
Weekdays, bus service runs from 6:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Sunday and holidays from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.

On weekdays, buses operate on color-coded, fixed loop routes from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (For service prior to 9:00 a.m., see the Dial-a-Bus service.) The buses follow the same loop routes all day. Inside the Rossmoor valley, the buses will stop anywhere is legal and safe. They will not stop for anyone flagging down the bus from the opposite side of the street or entry. The Green Line is the only fixed route that travels to downtown Walnut Creek, departing Gateway Clubhouse bus shelter several times per day. This is a fixed route that always goes to BART first. To view the routes and schedules, click on the specific bus line desired.

Shuttle Service:
Shuttle service is before and after our regular color-coded fixed route on Monday through Friday. The shuttle service leaves the Rossmoor Shopping Center at 9:00 a.m., 5:00, 5:30 and 6:15 p.m. All shuttles then will stop at Gateway Clubhouse bus shelter and transport Rossmoor residents directly to their street entryway.

Dial-a-Bus:
Dial-a-Bus operates in the early morning, evening and on Saturday, Sunday and Holiday’s. For Dial-a-Bus service, call (925) 988-7676 at least one hour in advance of your desired pick-up time. Dial-a-Bus service always offers trips to our “downtown service area,” which is the area between BART and Kaiser/Newell. This covers most of the shopping, restaurants, bookstores, Lesher Center for the Arts and Walnut Creek Cinemax movie theater. Weekday early morning Dial-a-Bus service makes four trips on request to our downtown Walnut Creek service area. Estimated times of arrival for BART are 6:15, 7:00, 8:00 and 9:00 a.m. Weekday evening trips are 7:00 and 8:20 p.m. For BART pick-ups, tell the driver what time your train.

Paratransit
Paratransit service has the same hours as all other services. Rossmoor’s paratransit bus will go anywhere the regular Rossmoor buses go. To qualify for the Rossmoor Paratransit service, you must be physically unable to use the regular Rossmoor bus and do not drive. Paratransit riders typically use wheelchairs, heavy walkers or they might live where they are unable to access the bus stop safely. All wheelchairs must have working footrests and brakes. Paratransit riders may be combined with other riders on the Green Line and on Dial-a-Bus.

County Connection (CCCTA)
The public bus, County Connection (CCCTA) #1 departs from the Rossmoor Shopping Center 33 minutes past every hour weekdays from 6:33 a.m. until 6:33 p.m. This bus goes directly to BART and takes approximately 12 minutes. From BART, the CCCTA #1 bus goes to John Muir Medical Center on Yganacio Boulevard and Kaiser Permanente Park Shadelands Medical Offices.
