Tuesday, December 2 (4:30 p.m.): A fire in a manor in the 3200 block of Terra Granada Drive was quickly extinguished Tuesday afternoon by Contra Costa Fire Protection District firefighters.
Shortly after 1:15 p.m., ConFire responded to a two-alarm fire at a condominium in the fourth of four adjacent three-story buildings. Occupants of the four buildings were temporarily evacuated.
The fire was contained to the room in which the fire originated, ConFire Battalion Chief Kevin Platt said.
Firefighters entered through a garage door. The fire was in an area that was hard to access, thus it took a while to confirm that it was all the way out, Platt said.
A group of residents from the buildings were huddled outside as firefighters continued their work, including an overhaul of anything that could potentially continue to burn.
At press time, it was uncertain how many residents might be displaced, though residents in the first two buildings still had power.
The cause of the fire was unknown. There is no suspicion of arson, Platt said.
