Lanes to close temporarily during replacement of gate operators starting Monday Jan. 13

Friday, January 10 (12:00 p.m.): The gate will experience temporary lane closures the week of Jan. 13 for the scheduled replacement of the mechanical gate operating machines.
Starting Monday, Jan. 13, the Door Company will replace the gate operators, including the arms, and the detection loops at the entrance gate. The work should be completed by Friday, Jan. 17, said Trust Maintenance Manager Martijn Lemmens.
The replacement will result in temporary closures for all four lanes but never more than one lane at a time, Lemmens added. Work will take place during normal business hours.
Part of the work includes saw cutting for new loop detectors, so short periods of time might be noisy. The loop detectors in the ground help determine when the gate arm should open and close as cars come into Rossmoor.
“Each lane could close multiple times throughout the week,” said Trust Maintenance Supervisor John Raith. “Even though it will be only one lane at a time, it will cause traffic.”
Raith also noted that if traffic is significantly backed up, security officers may instruct residents with visible RFID readers to drive through to clear the congestion.
Lemmens added that emergency services will be notified about the lane closures.
