Friday, July 12 (9:00 a.m.): Rossmoor has been named one of the top retirement communities in California by the financial news and opinion company 24/7 Wall St.
The company’s recent article on the eight best retirement communities in California placed Rossmoor No. 3 behind Del Webb Sun City in Palm Desert and Laguna Woods Village in Laguna Hills.
The article, written by California Realtor Hayden Goldberg, said the following about
Rossmoor: “Rossmoor Walnut Creek is a relaxed retirement community surrounded by lush gardens and picturesque hillsides in the Bay Area. Most retirees come to Rossmoor for its amenities, such as its two golf courses, tennis courts, and a performing arts center, which offers a variety of high-budget performances all year round. There are also more than 200 clubs and organizations covering a wide range of interests such as gardening, travel, card games and knitting, to name a few.”
The author dug through online real estate- specific blogs focused primarily on California retirement communities, taking into account such factors as location, amenities, affordability and overall quality of life.
“Our community should be proud to live in a retirement community that falls within the top five in the state,” GRF President Leanne Hamaji said. “Articles, like this one, about Rossmoor should remind us that in the larger scope of things, we are very fortunate to live in such a beautiful and well-run community, one that is admired by industry experts. Taking a step back, and viewing Rossmoor from that outside perspective, builds community pride and unity.”
Other retirement communities that made the list were Ocean Hills Country Club in Oceanside, Trilogy at Rio Vista, The Villages Golf and Country Club in San Jose, Trilogy at Monarch Dunes, Wine Country, and Four Seasons at Bakersfield.
