GRF committees have several vacancies

Volunteers needed for Aquatics and Fitness, Audit, Finance and Golf Advisory

 

 

Tuesday, May 13 (8:30 a.m.): There will be openings on the following GRF committees in June:

 Aquatics and Fitness Committee: two non-GRF member openings

 Audit Committee: Three non-GRF Board member openings

 Finance Committee: Three non-GRF Board member openings

 Golf Advisory Committee: One non-GRF Board member opening Residents interested in serving on any of these committees are invited to apply by submitting their names and qualifications, along with a brief statement on why they want to serve, to Assistant Secretary Deborah Rose by email at drose@rossmoor.com by Friday, May 30. Residents who have questions can call Rose at 1-925-988-7710.

All candidates must have access to a laptop or personal computing device that can connect to the internet as interviews may take place over Zoom, committee meetings use web-based agenda packets, and all committee meetings are conducted both in-person and over Zoom.

Select the “For Residents” tab and scroll down to the Golden Rain Foundation section. The committee’s charter information can be found within the individual GRF committee sections. A summary of each committee’s purpose is listed below.

Committees and their purpose Aquatics and Fitness Advisory Commit-tee : Comprised of no less than five and no more than nine non-Board members and one Board member (ex-officio member). Its purpose is to be advisory to the Board about the fitness and aquatics facilities, programs, services, and equipment; to monitor guest and caregiver usage of facilities to the extent possible and as necessary make recommendations regarding guest use policies and rules. The committee is also advisory to staff about the use of and condition of aquatic and fitness facilities (levels of service), scheduling of resident usage, rules, etc.

Audit Committee : Comprised of not less than five and no more than seven non-Board members and one nonvoting Board member (the Treasurer). Its purpose is to assist the GRF Board in monitoring the integrity of the GRF’s financial statements, the effectiveness of its internal controls, and the qualifications and performance of the GRF’s independent auditor.

Finance Committee : Comprised of six non-Board members and one Board member (the Treasurer). Its purpose is to be advisory to the Board on all matters relating to the financial well-being of the GRF, including consideration, adoption and oversight of the Operations and Capital Equipment Budgets and the Capital Improvement and Replacement Reserve Plans. The Committee has no responsibility for the affairs of Mutual Housing Corporations.

Golf Advisory Committee : Comprised of seven non-Board members and one non-voting Board member (ex-officio member). Its purpose is to be advisory to the GRF Board about the play of golf and to be advisory to the Director of Golf about the playability of the courses (levels of service), scheduling of golf events, playing rules, clothing rules, etc.
