Shaded Fuel Break Around Rossmoor

The above map shows the area where shaded fuel break work will be completed around Rossmoor. This project will remove excess dry vegetation from a strip of land above the valley encircling about 85% of Rossmoor. The break also will include some portions of land stretching into Lafayette.

This shaded fuel break project is happening thanks to a $3.1 million grant obtained in June 2022 by ConFire from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection. Both GRF and city of Walnut Creek worked with regional elected officials to advocate for this grant.
